He was lying on the bed. Watching relatives of other patients visiting them; talking, laughing….
“Who is that old man?” Sunidhi whispered to the nurse attending her.
“The police picked him up from the footpath, delirious and starving.” She answered in a soft tone.
“Oh!” he looks so sophisticated.
“Yeah!” she answered, “He has gained his consciousness just a few days ago, I attend him, he speaks and behaves very well.”
She was wheeled to Operation Theater next day, the procedure did not worked out well, she returned after spending a week in ICU.
His bed was empty.
“What happened to him?” she asked the nurse.
“The Police Inspector who left him here discharged him and took him to his home.” She grinned widely. “He said that he can stay with them as long as he wishes to.”
