I dont know about the rest of the world, but India certainly is not a good place to go hitch-hiking/trekking ladies unless you are part of a solid group who in turn are capable of defending themselves and their companions.
Recently a young couple originally from Bengal went to visit a waterfall in a remote area, they both were butchered by the taxi driver and his friends.
Now, being a nature crazy I dont blame that girl at all, her desire to be in a place like that, but when you are living in a world of predators sometimes it is smart to kill desires!
If I could be what I wanted to be I would have been living in a deserted island, far away from human beings, exploring every nook and cranny of that place, or I would have become a globe-trotter, back-pack traveller, with all my belongings in a back-pack, sleeping under starlit sky when it is nice and on your porch when it is too cold or raining!
But there is a very rude line between dreams, desires, hopes and reality. The human society loves to punish those who cross this line monstrously!
So, dont go hitch-hiking/trekking without thinking about pros and cons! Please!
