Myriad colours of earth

A cruel tyrant once conquered a kingdom
The king had a son beautiful as angel,
Inside and outside was his beauty divine
Everyone feared for his life.

But to their surprise he was unscathed
The tyrant appointed him in his court
He was allowed to live in the palace
Everyone blessed the tyrant from heart.

One day without any reason at all
The prince was sent to jail
Later his body was found
Floating in the palace moat.

The reason was too shocking!
The prince outshone the king
Not deliberately but by sheer presence,
The tyrant’s envy caused his destruction.
