Amphan paid a visit to Kolkata!

Well, Amphan paid a visit for sure, but honestly speaking, I have seen far fiercer Kalboisakhi, that is the storm that occurred during the month of Boisakh in Bengal, a storm that is no longer regular as rain, as it was two decades ago!

Amphan started its foreshow at about four in the evening, when it made its landfall in Bengal, just like Aila did before her, apparently May cyclones have a tendency to visit Bengal. At first it appeared just a rain storm but then it went on and on, and mighty gusts went roaring through the streets that were already flooded, I enjoyed the show for two and half hours, when I retired at 6:30 because I was soaked and had to change clothes [otherwise I would have stayed] it was still raging outside, it continued till at least eight thirty, then slowed down, but mighty gusts still came once in a while.

The electricity went off at about six thirty or earlier, returned at one thirty, thank God! Because it might have been pretty cold outside but the rooms were pretty stuffy and hot!

When I woke up in the morning the sky was clouded but the roads were drained, that means rain stopped sometime in night.

In the end, I guess it is the length of cyclones that causes damage not the speed, Kalboisakhis are mostly far fiercer than the Amphan that reached Kolkata. Shot quite a few video but my camera does not captures well in low-light, but the sound is there, not as loud as the storm but close enough.

The photographs say more than the video I guess but I was so busy shooting videos that I forgot photos. Tssk tsssk. WordPress does not uploads videos so…..
