THOUGHTS & WORDS

troll

I know I might have ignored this little gesture but I can’t. I somehow think it is my moral duty toward my readers, quite a lot of whom has become my close friends. Please read the things written below carefully. Don’t brush them away casually.

In my long span of blogging i have met all type of people marvelous friends and trolls and people in-between who dwell the cyber world.

Unfortunately some trolls did not like the things I wrote in MSN, I have written in their user’s contribution section for almost two years. My writings were simply words from heart, before writing there I never even guessed people can become so abusive to those who write against their views.

These trolls started to cyber-stalk me from then on. I still receive their mails in my email ids. Extremely abusive and sometimes really perverted mails. Some regular writers are Shruti Brij, Shri, Vasundhara and Ria But as you know they must be fake names. But that does not makes their intentions less heinous So don’t take them lightly (After two years since I stopped writing in MSN).

They are not innocent babies, their behaviour is on the brink of criminal activities, they used to regularly bother me , posting dirty (extremely) comments on my blogs, abusive comments and mails, insane rantings were daily affair. As a result I had to stop using my windows live blog because it did not gave the option of moderation then.

WORST PART IS/WAS FIRST THEY USED MY BLOG NAMES, AFTER SLIGHTLY MODIFYING THEM OR OPENING THE SAME BLOGS UNDER OTHER WEBSITES. Then they started to contact my readers with great gusto from those ids or blogs, sharing all the articles I have written in which there is/was some thing which might brush someone in a wrong way. (I should meekly say that I am straight-forward, too straight-forward for my own sake, so I have sometimes written clear cut truth without any sweetness, that much I can assure you).

Say for example, they will forward all my articles showing sympathy to Palestine or Iraq to Hindu fanatics or some articles in which I have said something really harsh. It seemed their sole intention was to drag the name of my blogs in their insane ranting or blacklist them to as many people as possible.

As I wrote under three pseudonyms (apart from my own name) I got some of them myself, that’s why I knew that they were not normal bullies who harass only the writer by posting sick comments on blogs, they had more things in their sleeves.

Can’t deny they won the war, I stopped writing in MSN and using Windows Live blogs even though I was pampered to no end by the editing section of MSN. I stick to WordPress specifically because it gives me the IP Address of the people who post comments. Somehow I have a deep guts feeling that they will be linked to ONE SINGLE OFFICE. So they and other mischief makers don’t visit WordPress much.

They are the main reason why i always keep my friends informed about the blog sites i am using/not using. I hope my friends won’t ignore these words.

I don’t want them to be fooled by any troll or favour-seeker using my name. i recently even deleted a remote desktop connection file from my computer. I got suspicious because one of my readers was writing my unpublished poems after brushing them up, so I asked my blog friends how can that be possible! A friend generously told me that its impossible unless someone is connecting your computer via remote access, so I searched for Remote Access software in the computer, got one, googled it and google said “Either you or someone else is remote accessing your computer.” I deleted it. My monitor crashed (they might have been coincidence but that’s what happened) … As I am not a talented writer I believe someone was hacking my connection for some other purpose. Using those poems was most probably sign of over confidence. Or may be he/she must have thought I wont be able to solve the problem.

So… I WILL SINCERELY HOPE THAT YOU WILL KEEP MY ABOVE WORDS IN MIND. There is another thing I will like to share with you apart from the above:

I DON’T USE MY BLOGS FOR BUSINESS , ITS ONLY PLEASURE, UTILISING MY TIME AND UPGRADING MY WRITING. I WILL NEVER ASK ANY ONE ANY KIND OF FAVOURS- CLICK ON AD, DONATION, AND HELP- NOTHING. IF SOME ONE SEEKS SOME FAVOUR FROM YOU THAT WILL NOT BE ME.

I JUST WANTED MY FRIENDS/ READERS TO KNOW THAT I DONT USE FACEBOOK, ORKUT, TWITTER, SKYPE. IF SOMEONE WANTS TO CONTACT ME HE/SHE CAN USE ANY OF THESE. LATELY I HAVE BECOME REALLY LAZY ABOUT MY EMAIL ID, I CHECK IT ONCE IN A BLUE MOON:

The blogs I regularly update are:

mydomainpvt.wordpress.com; magicthought.wordpress.com; mycybernovels.wordpress.com, sharmishthabasu.wordpress.com, etherealheights.wordpress.com, earthinbw.wordpress.com, magicthought.wordpress.com

  2. True, every word of it. Being new to blogging, plagiarism is something that I am really wary of. And after reading about your harrowing experiences on MSN, I am having second thoughts regarding my intentions of connecting my blog updates to my facebook profile. Thanks a lot for making me aware of that. It’s really painful to see that people display their same ugly side when it comes to the cyber-world as well….I thought, at least this place would be free from those vices we always see in the real world….

    • some people just want things without toil, and some people are too jealous of those who have accomplished some thing they cant- sadly internet gives them immense power. the power of almost absolute invisibility.

i am very happy with WordPress, in two years blogging here i have not been bothered at all.

its true msn gave me the courage to write, and i will always be grateful to its editorial section for selecting those crazy scribbles but the readers there were horrible- i have not seen such vicious people in WordPress, thats because here they cant hide.

      thanks for the sweet words.

  4. Hi, I came over to your blog to thank you very much for visiting my fledgling blog and liking one of my posts. I was surprised and saddened to find this post. I am new to blogosphere but even so I am sorry to hear this. Hope it never happens again.

  5. Thanks for following my blog, Sharmishtha.

Also, thanks very much for sharing your experience with MSN. I’m pretty new in the blogosphere (and in the writing world), but I am becoming more aware of these things happening as writers like you share their stories.

It’s terrible those people are out there. Don’t they have anything better to do?

Good luck to you in the future, and keep writing! 🙂

    • i believe internet is a magic wand for people who want to make the world a better place and also to those who want to make it a hell.

      cyber bullying is a disease.

    • what do you want me to do? i will do that with pleasure, even though i dont have any experience of caregiving at all, apart from taking care of my family members when they were down with contagious diseases, of course, when none else will enter their rooms 🙂

      • Thank you for volunteering Sharmishtha! Here is a description: Review the ITN program (http://mlbergitn.wordpress.com/2011/07/25/itn-update-2/) and imagine you are the ITN Presenter. Write the text (suitable for note cards) that would be suitable to be used for a person (the Presenter) addressing an audience of ITN groups at an ITN meeting. Basically your words will correspond to 10 minutes of delivery time.

Everyone has an opportunity to give better care. You referenced giving care to ill family members. That would make a great personal reflection. And have you observed other people giving care? What are your thoughts and words describing your witness?

Good luck with this and let me know how you’re doing as you progress.

        Thanks again,

        Dan

      • dear Dan,

serious sickness evades people around me, both my parents died after suffering very briefly. none of the rest of my family or friends ever had that type of experience.

my idea of caregiving is fully based on movies and stories.

i will check out the works of others and get some idea.

        the pleasure will be mine
        sharmishtha

  6. Caregiver is not a title everyone is meant to have, it takes a genuine heart and spirit, oh, let’s not leave out patience. Caregiving used to be a term directly related to family, mother, father, grandmother. The direction society has been force to go in; the title is just being handed out to anyone willing to take it. Society is so busy micro managing that the word patience may soon be abolished from the English vocabulary.

Being a mother some would say comes naturally; however that is not the case. Evidence by so many horrific stories we hear about in the news and see in our everyday lives. Nurture verses nature, one may be able to go about their ever day lives providing the basic needs to whomever or whatever it is they or it may need with very little if any care, they are simply mocking their environment. Take for instance my cat Storm, she is a darling, a Calico cat, that type of cat is very feisty. It takes a lot of patience to deal with a bipolar cat running all over the house tormenting me. I bought her when I saw a tiny mouse dropping and thus came Storm. I knew how to take care of her because my friend has a cat and I watched her take care of hers. Being loving and caring where qualities implanted in me from birth it was easy to be Storms caregiver (: and it’s the same way for me with humans. Everyone is not born with these nurturing qualities, that is not a bad thing it just means they may be here on earth to be a correctional officer and not a caregiver.

Nature verse Nurture, I needed her for the tiny mouse Dropping but when she started acting like she needed Prozac I said to myself…HMMMM. I didn’t even love her yet and she got on my last nerve…MY LAST NERVE! I nurtured her with all her defects, she’s my little snookum and I love her a lot, after all the prelims, she is still really feisty.

This is just a animal, the question I’m posing is can you still be a nurturing caregiver even when the person, thing or animal is getting on your last nerve and acting out on every character defect nameable. Caregiving is not something anybody can do or be, it takes a genuine heart and nurturing spirit.

THANKS FOR ALLOWING ME TO GIVE FEED BACK ON CAREGIVING.

  7. This is a criminal offence. You just countered their viewpoints only, to which they respond with such tormenting behaviour. This is a clear case of cyber bullying. You should have them booked for the same.
